Para Vista Primary School has a rich and diverse multicultural
community and is set on extensive grounds including a gymnasium and two
playing fields. The school offers an
on-site Preschool and Out of School Hours Care/Vacation Care. Transition
to school from preschool is supported by a 'Super Starters' class. This
program provides one term of school orientation in a small class setting
with a specific focus on early literacy and school routines.
Current priorities are excellence in learning, literacy, numeracy,
wellbeing and multiculturalism. Features of these priorities are: Early
Years Intervention; Student Voice/Leadership and our Social Skills
Program. Support for learners with special needs
and bringing community members into the school is also a priority.
Students are provided with specialist programs in PE and music.
Science is also a strong feature of classroom programs with students participating in a range of science based activities throughout the year. Students have access to a broad range of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) such as interactive whiteboard, computer suites and the internet.
