My name is Sue Charleston and it is my pleasure to introduce myself as the Principal of Para Vista Primary School. Para Vista is a school with a diverse range of students, a dedicated staff and a supportive local community. I feel fortunate to be part of this school community and to be able to work to support the students, families and staff of our school.
My career in education started in the UK where I taught Year 4/5 for some years before moving to Adelaide in 2003. As well as teaching across Year 3-10 I also worked as a Literacy Co-ordinator, Assistant Principal, Deputy Principal and Manager for Pedagogy in the state education office in Flinders Street.
I view education as a lifelong process and will continue to learn with and through our school community as we strive to deliver the best possible outcomes for all out students and families. Importantly, I believe in students being at the centre of all school related decisions and student voice and agency is a strong aspect of education at Para Vista Primary School from Preschool all the way through to the transition to High School.
Relationships between families and school are vital to the success of our students and our Community Hub provides a variety of ways for the local community to connect, be supported and provide different perspectives to enhance the learning that we provide. There are many ways for you to be involved in your child’s journey at Para Vista Primary School and I would encourage you to come in and see what we have to offer. Come in for a tour or just a chat, I look forward to meeting you,
